Bunkershill Self-Catering Holiday Cottage,
Borgue, Kirkcudbright.

Description of the Area
Galloway is one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland – and Kirkcudbright and Gatehouse of Fleet are two of the prettiest towns in Galloway! The area offers the best of rural Scotland, with the added interest of the many galleries in the artists’ town of Kirkcudbright, and the “food town” of Castle Douglas only 30 minutes drive away. Kirkcudbright is also well known for its Summer Festivities, with entertainment being provided on the harbour square every Thursday night, and the finale of the Tattoo at the end of August.
Bunkershill is situated just outside the village of Borgue, almost equidistant between Kirkcudbright and Gatehouse. It is in beautifully secluded rural surroundings, offering many opportunities for walks for both the fit and not so fit! Many of the lanes are also ideal for cycling or riding, and there are a number of stables in the area. There are a number of golf courses in the immediate vicinity and both fly and coarse fishing are available locally. Bunkershill is also approximately 3 miles from the Carrick Shore, with the beaches of Sandgreen, Mossyard and the Dhoon only short drive away.
Borgue is a small village an easy 20 – 25 minute walk from the cottage. Borgue has a church and pub, and shops of all kinds can be found in either Kirkcudbright, Gatehouse or Castle Douglas. Between Borgue and Kirkcudbright you will also find Brighouse Bay Holiday Park where there is a swimming pool and a variety of activities on offer.
